Juventus eye Gasperini after Conte declines return

Juventus is exploring a new coaching option after Antonio Conte confirmed he will stay at Napoli until 2027.

This decision comes as a surprise to some fans who had hoped he might return to the Turin club. Meanwhile, former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri is making a comeback to AC Milan after more than a decade away.

Currently, Igor Tudor is still the head coach at Juventus. His team’s fourth-place finish in Serie A earned him a contract extension until June 2026.

He is also expected to lead Juventus in the upcoming Club World Cup. However, the club holds the right to end his contract early by paying a small compensation.

Now, the club has set its sights on Gian Piero Gasperini, who is under contract with Atalanta until mid-2027.

Reports say Gasperini is open to leaving Atalanta one year early, and Juventus has already reached out to express their interest.

However, Gasperini is also being considered by Roma. He recently held a meeting in Florence with Roma leaders, including Claudio Ranieri and sporting director Florent Ghisolfi. While the talks were positive, no full agreement has been reached yet.

Gasperini has taken time to think about his future before making any final decision.

This has given Juventus a chance to step in and try to convince him. Sources say Juventus has already contacted Gasperini’s agents.

For Gasperini, coaching Juventus would be a return to where his career started   he once worked with the club’s youth teams and played for them in the early days of his career. More developments are expected in the coming days.
