Juventus eye Viktor Gyökeres as backup plan for Osimhen

With Champions League qualification secured, Juventus are ready to invest heavily in strengthening their squad. A top priority is signing a striker who can consistently deliver goals for the next head coach.

While Victor Osimhen remains the number one target, Juventus are also seriously considering Viktor Gyökeres as a strong alternative.

The Swedish forward, who currently plays for Sporting Lisbon, is coming off an outstanding season  scoring 54 goals in 52 games across all competitions.

Juventus have already made initial contact regarding Gyökeres. He was admired by Antonio Conte last summer when Napoli were looking to replace Osimhen, who later joined Galatasaray.

Now, with Juventus possibly bringing Conte back, Gyökeres is once again a name of interest.

Unlike Osimhen, who has a €75 million release clause only valid for non-Italian clubs, Gyökeres could be signed for around €70 million  despite a €100 million clause in his Sporting contract.

Given Napoli’s tough stance, especially toward domestic rivals, the Gyökeres deal could prove more realistic.

Gyökeres also comes with a lower wage demand. While Osimhen earns €11 million net per year, thanks in part to Italy’s Growth Decree tax benefits, Gyökeres would likely accept a smaller salary  even less than Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, who reportedly earns €12 million net.

In summary, Gyökeres is not only a prolific scorer but also a more affordable option, making him a serious contender for Juventus as they look to rebuild their attacking force for the upcoming season.
