Juventus eyes Rennes star amid Milik injury concerns
Juventus is seriously contemplating the acquisition of Arnaud Kalimuendo from Rennes as a potential alternative to Dusan Vlahovic in their attacking lineup.
Initially, Arkadiusz Milik was seen as a reliable backup for Vlahovic, but ongoing concerns about his physical fragility and frequent injuries have led the club to explore other options, according to Tuttosport.
Kalimuendo, a young French striker, has been on Juventus’ radar since late July. His potential move to Turin has gained traction due to the strong connection between him and Juventus’ current coach, Thiago Motta.
Motta is well-acquainted with Kalimuendo from their time together in the youth ranks of Paris Saint-Germain and sees him as a versatile forward capable of playing both as a central striker and a supporting forward.
Despite receiving offers from clubs like Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Stuttgart, Leicester, and Southampton, Kalimuendo reportedly favors a move to a more prestigious club, such as Juventus.
The potential deal could be structured as a loan with an option to buy, a scenario that Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, is actively pursuing. However, for this to materialize, Rennes would need to be open to such an arrangement.
With the transfer window closing soon, Juventus must act swiftly to secure Kalimuendo’s services, strengthening their attack ahead of the upcoming season.
