Juventus’ first bid for Francisco Conceição rejected by Porto
Juventus’ intentions to keep Portuguese winger Francisco Conceição at the club have become clear, but they’ve hit an early setback in negotiations.
The Bianconeri submitted their first official offer to sign Conceição permanently after his season-long loan from FC Porto. However, the proposal reportedly below €30 million was turned down by the Portuguese side.
Conceição, who joined Juventus on loan for the 2024-25 season, was recently included in the club’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, thanks to an extension of his loan deal to cover the tournament.
His future had been unclear in recent weeks, with mixed reports suggesting he could return to Porto or move elsewhere. But this first bid signals Juventus’ desire to keep him in Turin beyond the summer.
Porto reportedly view the initial offer as too low, especially given the speculation that Conceição’s release clause thought to be near €30 million was only valid during the initial loan period. Now that the clause is nearing expiration, the Portuguese club appears to be seeking a higher fee.
Despite the rejection, Juventus and Porto remain in talks. It’s a positive sign for Juventus fans hoping the 22-year-old stays, especially after improved performances under interim coach Igor Tudor, following a slow start to his time at the club.
Early in Tudor’s reign, Conceição struggled for minutes and mostly came off the bench. However, his role seems to have evolved, either through tactical adaptation or by winning the coach’s trust with strong training sessions and game impact.
With the summer transfer window now open, Juventus must decide whether to increase their offer or risk losing the promising winger.
For now, the message is clear: Juventus want to keep Francisco Conceição. Whether Porto will agree to a deal remains the key question in the coming weeks.
