A bombshell has dropped in the Italian football transfer market, as Juventus has confirmed that Federico Chiesa is no longer part of their plans. The announcement was made yesterday by the club’s new manager, Thiago Motta.

Despite having a contract that runs until 2025, the Italian winger is set to depart from the Allianz Stadium. Motta’s decision, along with the club’s directive, has made Chiesa’s position untenable.

Juventus has placed a valuation of around €14-15 million on Chiesa, a figure that would allow the club to realize a capital gain on the player.

Initially valued at a hefty €30-35 million, the club was forced to lower its expectations to €25-25 million as interest waned.

Now, with no concrete offers on the table, Juventus find themselves in the unenviable position of accepting a valuation of just €14-15 million for the Euro 2020 hero.

However, as reported by Corriere dello Sport, there has been a notable lack of interest from other clubs.

While the club remains confident that their hardline stance will eventually yield results, there is growing speculation that Chiesa could choose to stay in Italy and join Inter Milan on a free transfer next year.

Chiesa’s departure comes as a shock to many fans, who had considered the winger to be one of the most promising young talents in Italian football.
