Juventus offered former Barcelona player
Juventus have been offered the chance to sign former Barcelona and Wolverhampton right-back Nelson Semedo.
The Portuguese defender could be a potential replacement for Timothy Weah, who is expected to join Marseille, although no official offer has been made yet.
Semedo, born in 1993 and of Cape Verdean descent, is currently a free agent after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of June. He joined Wolves from Barcelona in 2020 for €32 million and previously played for Benfica.
He brings plenty of experience, with 165 appearances in the Premier League and 82 in La Liga. Known for his speed, dribbling, and attacking threat, Semedo has scored three goals and provided 16 assists across the two leagues.
The report states that super-agent Jorge Mendes who recently helped Juventus sign Francisco Conceição has proposed Semedo to the Bianconeri.
While primarily a right-back, Semedo has occasionally played as a right midfielder due to his strong passing and crossing ability. However, he is less known for his defensive strength.
Juventus is still exploring multiple options for the right-back position. Other names on their radar include Atlético Madrid’s Nahuel Molina, former Real Madrid player Lucas Vázquez (also a free agent), and Jonathan Clauss from Nice.
It remains to be seen whether Semedo will become a serious target, but with his availability on a free transfer, he could be a low-cost solution for Juventus.
