Juventus prepares for Cagliari clash with Motta facing two big attacking decisions

Juventus is gearing up for their away match against Cagliari with the aim of strengthening their position in the league standings and continuing their recent positive run.

Head coach Thiago Motta appears set to maintain his preferred 4-2-3-1 formation, though some adjustments to the starting lineup remain under consideration.

Michele Di Gregorio is expected to start between the posts, providing reliability in goal. The defensive line will likely feature Timothy Weah and Andrea Cambiaso as full backs, while Federico Gatti and Dean Kelly are set to pair up in central defense. Kelly, who recently stepped in for Veiga in Eindhoven, is poised for his first match as a center-back.

In midfield, Khephren Thuram and Manuel Locatelli will form the double pivot. Thuram’s growing influence in the team ensures physicality and dynamism, while Locatelli will orchestrate play and offer defensive cover.

According to Ilbianconero, the attacking midfield trio presents an intriguing selection challenge. Weston McKennie is expected to play an advanced role, providing runs from midfield, while Mbangula is set to operate on the left flank as he continues to integrate into the team’s setup.

The center forward position is contested between Randal Kolo Muani and Dusan Vlahovic, with both strikers vying for a starting spot.

Another key decision for Motta lies in the wide attacking role, where Kenan Yildiz and Nico Gonzalez are competing for a starting berth. Yildiz has been in excellent form and could be rewarded with a place in the starting lineup.

However, if fully fit, Gonzalez remains a strong alternative due to his experience and creativity. The final decision will depend on the Argentine’s physical condition and the tactical approach Motta deems best to counter Cagliari’s defensive setup.

With these final lineup decisions still pending, Juventus aims to secure another vital victory and maintain their momentum in the league.
