Timothy Weah’s move from Juventus to Olympique de Marseille is nearly complete, and Forza Juventus understands that the Bianconeri will retain a 15% sell-on clause in the deal—not 10%, as previously reported by multiple outlets.

The agreement between the two clubs is already in place and structured as follows: a €1 million loan fee, followed by a €14 million obligation to buy, and €3 million in potential add-ons based on performance-related targets.

The sell-on clause ensures that Juventus will receive 15% of any future transfer fee should Marseille sell Weah down the line.

Only final details remain to be sorted between the player and Marseille before the transfer can be made official.

Sources close to the negotiations confirm that everything is close to being agreed, and the formal announcement could follow in the coming days.

Weah joined Juventus in the summer of 2023 from Lille but never quite settled in Turin. Frequently deployed out of position as a wing-back, the U.S. international struggled for consistency under both Massimiliano Allegri and Igor Tudor.

Despite flashes of potential, his playing time dwindled as Juventus began reshaping the squad around more tactically versatile and financially manageable profiles.

At 25, Weah is now seeking a fresh start and views Marseille as an ideal next step. The Ligue 1 side, under new manager Roberto De Zerbi, has been pushing to secure Weah’s services in what they see as a low-risk, high-upside investment for their revamped attacking system.

For Juventus, the deal is in line with the club’s broader strategy of reducing the wage bill and offloading non-essential players while still safeguarding future financial upside via clauses like the 15% resale percentage.

The transfer is expected to be finalized in the coming days as both clubs wrap up the final procedural steps.
