Juventus are reportedly exploring a bold transfer move that could shake up Italian football, as they eye Inter Milan’s French forward Marcus Thuram, valued at €75 million.
The rivalry between Juventus and Inter Milan, known as the Derby d’Italia, has historically made direct transfers between the clubs extremely rare.
Players who’ve represented both sides usually made the switch late in their careers or as free agents. Now, Juventus could be on the verge of breaking that tradition with an audacious pursuit of one of Inter’s brightest stars.
Marcus Thuram has become a key player for Inter since his arrival, impressing with his strength, speed, and attacking flair.
Despite the Nerazzurri’s recent success including league titles in 2021 and 2024—the departure of coach Simone Inzaghi has created some financial uncertainty. That has reportedly forced Inter to consider player sales, even of top names, if significant offers come in.
Juventus are closely monitoring Thuram’s situation and are considering a move as part of their ongoing rebuild under new management.
Inter Milan have placed a €75 million price tag on the 27-year-old forward, signaling their intent to keep him unless an irresistible offer arrives.
The fee reflects both his on-pitch value and the political tension such a transfer would create. Given the fierce rivalry, Inter may demand even more should they feel pressure from Juventus or see interest from other European giants.
Though Juventus would benefit greatly from Thuram’s versatility in attack, striking a deal remains difficult.
Aside from the high fee, the strained relationship between the two clubs could complicate negotiations. Inter may be reluctant to strengthen a direct rival unless they receive an overwhelming financial incentive.
Juventus are in the middle of reshaping their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season and remain active in the transfer market. It remains to be seen whether they will submit a formal offer for Thuram or turn their attention to more affordable targets.
