Juventus are planning to strengthen their options at wingback this summer, with Sassuolo’s Scottish defender Josh Doig emerging as a serious target  a player highly appreciated by head coach Igor Tudor.

With Tudor now expected to continue at the helm next season, the Bianconeri are keen to reinforce wide positions in his preferred tactical setup.

Although Andrea Cambiaso might remain with the squad after a change of plans, the futures of Alberto Costa and Nicolo Savona remain unclear.

Meanwhile, Juan Cabal is still recovering from a serious ACL injury sustained in November.

Doig, 23, began his footballing journey in Scotland with Hearts and Hibernian before moving to Serie A side Hellas Verona in 2022. After a successful stint, he joined Sassuolo in January 2024 for €6.5 million.

Although he couldn’t prevent Sassuolo’s relegation to Serie B at the end of that season, he played a key role in their immediate promotion back to Serie A.

His consistency on the left flank was evident, making 29 league appearances and registering one goal and one assist in the 2024/25 Serie B campaign.

Doig is currently valued at €5 million, but Juventus are expected to offer a higher sum to persuade Sassuolo to part ways with one of their most dependable players. The Scotsman is under contract with the Neroverdi until June 2028.

Given his performances and potential, Doig could provide vital depth and energy on the flanks as Tudor looks to mold a team capable of challenging both domestically and in Europe.
