Juventus winger Samuel Mbangula is set to complete a summer move to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.

21-year-old Belgian winger Samuel Mbangula has been on the fringes at Juventus since Igor Tudor took charge in March.

The manager’s 3-4-2-1 formation reportedly doesn’t suit the youngster, leading the club to place him on the transfer list.

However, Mbangula had impressed early in the season under Thiago Motta  including a stunning debut goal against Como  which drew attention from clubs across Europe.

Premier League side Nottingham Forest had shown strong interest in signing Mbangula along with his teammate Timothy Weah, and Juventus approved the deal. But both players rejected the switch after holding talks with the English club.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that Juventus and Werder Bremen have reached an agreement in principle. The German side will pay a €10 million fixed fee plus bonuses to secure the Belgian’s services.

Though some fans may feel the fee is modest, it will count as pure capital gain for Juventus  a financial boost as they pursue signings like Francisco Conceição and Jadon Sancho.

Mbangula is expected to travel to Germany in the coming hours to complete the final stages of the move. Meanwhile, Timothy Weah is close to joining Olympique Marseille.
