Juventus to sacrifice Kenan Yildiz and Nicolo Fagioli for €55m-rated midfielder

Juventus is reportedly preparing a significant move to acquire Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United in the upcoming January transfer window.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Italian club is willing to meet Newcastle’s €55 million asking price by offloading two players: Nicolò Fagioli and Kenan Yildiz.

Tonali, who transferred from AC Milan to Newcastle, has recently returned to training after serving a ten-month suspension for illegal betting.

To finance the deal, Juventus is considering selling Fagioli, who has seen limited playing time this season, and Yildiz, a 19-year-old Turkish attacking midfielder who has been a key figure in Thiago Motta’s squad, even wearing the prestigious number 10 jersey.

Yildiz’s international appeal and potential to generate a significant capital gain make him an attractive asset to offload.

Fagioli has attracted interest from several clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Napoli, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

Yıldız has also garnered attention from top European clubs. Manchester United and Chelsea have reportedly submitted proposals for the young talent, while Liverpool, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and Aston Villa are also keen on securing his services.

The decision to pursue Tonali reportedly emerged from a crucial meeting held in Turin on Monday, attended by key figures including Cristiano Giuntoli, Stefano Stefanelli, and Francesco Romano.

Manager Thiago Motta is keen to add aggression to the midfield, and Tonali’s arrival would allow Teun Koopmeiners to play in his preferred central midfield role, replicating the position he often occupied at Atalanta.
