Juventus have won their second consecutive game to start the 2024/25 season away against Verona. An easy three-nil win against Verona with a Vlahovic double and a Nicolo Savona debut goal. Juventus took the most of their chances with Dusan scoring with his first big chance of the game.

Defence

Michele Di Gregorio – 7: Di Gregorio got his second clean sheet this season today. He didn’t have much to do during this game with Verona only managing one shot on target. He already looks integrated in the side with him and Gatti sharing an embrace at moments during the game.

Nicolo Savona – 8: Nico got his first start today and managed to get on the score sheet. He floated a header which landed into the side netting and other than that he was brilliant. Calm on the ball and played into Motta’s system with progressive passes.

Gleison Bremer – 8: Bremer looked brilliant today with a great overall performance. He was defensively a brick wall which we have come to expect. He stopped Verona one massive chance with a crucial tackle after Gatti gave the ball away. He knew how to manage the game after Juventus took the lead.

Federico Gatti – 7: Gatti took his second win as captain of Juventus with a sound performance. He wasn’t as defensively strong as Bremer, but he was as confident on the ball. In the four at the back system, he has ironed out some of his issues of progressing too far forward. He needs to keep this style of play up.

Juan Carbal – 6.5: Juan Carbal had a good enough display against his former team. He was good to progress play knowing when to make the right forward passes. He looked a bit nervous and panicked at times. But he was definitely good enough.

Midfield

Nicolo Fagioli – 6: Nico Fagioli was very good in his first start of the season. He worked well with Locatelli knowing when to drop deep and when to attack and make the progressive passes.

Manuel Locatelli – 7: Manuel Locatelli is showing once again why he should have been picked for the Euros squad. He was great on the ball while still being able to manage his defensive duties which he couldn’t do by himself last year.

Samuel Mbangula – 5: Mbangula wasn’t poor today, but he was quiet. He is only being marked down because of how good everyone else was. He did manage to win the penalty for the third goal but other than that he didn’t do much.

Kenan Yildiz – 7.5: Kenan Yildiz role looked a bit different today but that helped Juventus today. He did get on the ball more and he played more as a shadow striker today which was great for the team and mainly Vlahovic.

Andrea Cambiaso – 5: Like Mbangula, Cambiaso was also quiet today due to most build up coming through the centre. He still did of his duties and not a bad game at all.

Attack

Dusan Vlahovic – 8.5: Dusan Vlahovic responded to all the criticism after not taking his chances last week. He took his first big chance of the game and converted his penalty to bag a brace. He was also better in build up as he is more experienced under Thiago Motta.
