Juventus want to sign Marseille star
Juventus are exploring new defensive reinforcements as they prepare for a fresh chapter under revamped leadership. One of the top names on their radar is Leonardo Balerdi, the current captain of Olympique de Marseille.
Balerdi is highly admired by Juventus coach Igor Tudor, who previously worked with the Argentine defender during his time at Marseille. Adding to the interest, Juventus’ newly appointed sporting director Damien Comolli also has strong ties to the French club and knows Balerdi well.
However, the pursuit may not be straightforward Marseille have shown no intention of selling Balerdi at this time, making negotiations potentially difficult.
This transfer interest comes during a broader restructuring at Juventus. Cristiano Giuntoli has departed after two seasons, with Comolli stepping in to lead the club’s sporting operations.
As the Bianconeri look to rebuild both on and off the pitch, Balerdi remains a key figure in their defensive wishlist but prying him away from Marseille could be a tough task.
