Juventus are exploring a loan move for Rasmus Højlund, as the 22-year-old Danish striker finds himself on the fringes of Ruben Amorim’s plans at Manchester United.

After a disastrous 2024/25 season marked by a 15th-place league finish and a painful Europa League final defeat to Tottenham United are undergoing a major rebuild.

While reinforcements like Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and youngster Diogo Leon have arrived, others, including Marcus Rashford (loaned to Barcelona), are being moved out to reshape the squad.

Now, Højlund could be the next name to leave at least temporarily.

Juventus are keen to bring Højlund to Turin on loan. The Danish forward has fond memories of Italy, where he broke through with Atalanta before joining United.

However, his transition to English football has been bumpy he scored just four goals in the Premier League last season.

With Amorim prioritizing a new lead striker, Højlund is no longer seen as a guaranteed starter.

A move back to Serie A, where he thrived in a more transitional, counter-attacking system, could offer a chance to revive his confidence and form.

While Juventus are interested in a simple loan, United are reportedly seeking either a permanent sale or a loan with an obligation to buy, ideally to recoup a portion of their €70 million investment from 2023.

However, if no buyer steps forward, a temporary move to rebuild the striker’s value might be the best compromise.

Sources close to the club believe that unless Juventus or another suitor includes a purchase clause, United risk facing the same dilemma next season.

Juventus are not short on alternatives. Reports suggest they are also weighing up a move for Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez, while United continue to be linked with strikers such as Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Šeško.

With an asking price of around €45 million for Højlund, negotiations may hinge on how badly Juve want to secure his signature.

Although Rasmus Højlund remains a player of immense potential with pace, strength, and a striker’s instinct his time at Manchester United has yet to truly ignite.

A loan spell in a familiar environment like Serie A could be just what he needs, and it may benefit all parties if structured correctly.

The coming days will reveal whether Juventus are willing to match United’s terms or if Højlund’s future lies elsewhere.
