The father of Dean Huijsen has strongly criticised Juventus for the way the club forced his son out, describing it as “a real shock” and “a dark day.”

Donald Caspar Huijsen explained the painful moment:

“It was a real shock. A dark day. Dean was doing wonderfully in Turin, he spoke Italian perfectly and was loved by everyone. Giuntoli was categorical and Motta brutal when they said he could no longer train with the first team.”

Huijsen’s departure remains a regret for many Juventus fans. After leaving the club for Bournemouth last summer, he impressed in the Premier League before securing a big move to Real Madrid this year.

There has also been speculation that Juventus owner John Elkann dismissed sporting director Giuntoli partly due to the handling of Huijsen’s exit. Huijsen Sr. said:

“He and Motta aren’t exactly among my best friends…”

Despite the painful exit, Huijsen still has ties with Turin. His father revealed that he still enjoys visiting restaurants owned by Juventus legends Marchisio and Bonucci.

Huijsen, now 20, has already featured in nearly all of Real Madrid’s matches this season, showing maturity in the heart of their defence.

Huijsen’s father also highlighted his son’s strong friendship with Kenan Yildiz, saying they bonded during their time together in Juventus’ youth ranks.
