Bad news for Thuram and Inter fans before Juventus clash

The highly anticipated clash between Juventus and Inter is fast approaching, set to take place on Sunday at the Allianz Stadium. Both managers are dealing with some lineup uncertainties, particularly Simone Inzaghi, whose decisions largely depend on the fitness of Marcus Thuram.

The French forward has been managing an ankle issue since sustaining a knock against Fiorentina, which forced him to leave the field in the first half. With Sunday’s fixture on the horizon, updates on Thuram’s condition have emerged.

According to Ilbianconero, Thuram has been training individually, following a personalized recovery program. Medical examinations ruled out any serious ankle injuries, eliminating the risk of a long-term absence. However, he continued working separately from the group in today’s training session.

Despite this, he was able to train on the field, running at a good pace an encouraging sign for his potential availability against Juventus. There is growing optimism that Thuram will at least be included in the squad list. A final decision on his participation will be made on Saturday, the eve of the match.

Thuram was instrumental in his previous appearance at the Allianz Stadium last season when Inter secured a 1-1 draw. He provided a crucial assist for Lautaro Martinez’s goal, underlining his importance to the team.

Inzaghi is eager to have his preferred attacking duo ready for the Juventus clash. However, if Thuram starts on the bench, Taremi is poised to step in.

The Iranian forward has experience scoring at the Allianz Stadium, having done so in 2021 while playing for Porto. On that occasion, Porto eliminated Juventus from the Champions League despite a 3-2 loss, thanks to their 2-1 victory in the first leg. Although Taremi was sent off in that match, his experience at the venue could prove valuable if called upon on Sunday.
