Liverpool interest used by Parma to warn Juventus on Giovanni Leoni
Juventus are among several top clubs keeping a close watch on Parma’s rising star Giovanni Leoni — the 18-year-old centre-back whose meteoric rise has made him one of Europe’s most talked-about young defenders.
Touted by scouts as one of the brightest talents of his generation, Leoni has gone from academy prospect to first-team cornerstone in a matter of months.
Since joining Parma from Sampdoria in August 2024 for around €5 million plus add-ons, he has wasted no time proving his worth.
Under Cristian Chivu’s guidance, Leoni broke into the starting XI and quickly made history, becoming the youngest defender to score for Parma in Serie A — finding the net against Cagliari at just 18 years and 50 days old.

Over the 2024–25 campaign, he made 17 top-flight appearances and scored once, earning praise for his composure, anticipation, and physical presence.
His performances have inevitably attracted interest. Juventus are among the front-runners, though they face stiff competition from across Europe.
Liverpool have already tested Parma’s resolve with a €35 million bid, which was rejected. Parma have set their valuation at €40 million or more, making clear they are in no hurry to sell.
The club hopes to keep Leoni for at least another season — both to continue his development and to strengthen their Serie A ambitions. However, insiders acknowledge that a substantial offer could eventually force a decision.
For now, Leoni remains focused on pre-season preparations, undistracted by transfer rumours. While open to a move if an agreement is reached, he is equally content to keep progressing in Parma’s colours.
Juventus’ interest intensified after Leoni’s standout display in a 1-0 win over them in Serie A, where he delivered several crucial defensive interventions.

Inter Milan are also pushing hard, with Chivu’s first-hand knowledge of the player adding weight to their pursuit.
Meanwhile, AC Milan reportedly have tabled an offer worth €15 million plus striker Lorenzo Colombo, though Parma remain unmoved.
To protect their asset and strengthen their negotiating position, Parma recently extended Leoni’s contract until 2029 — a clear statement of intent that any departure will require a significant fee.
