Lautaro Martinez escapes suspension sampdoria’s Alex Ferrari punished for blasphemous remark

Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez has escaped suspension following allegations of using blasphemous language after his team’s loss to Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

According to Ilbianconero, the latest report from Serie A’s sports judge, Gerardo Mastrandrea, regarding matchday 25, did not mention the incident involving the Argentine striker. It appears that the lack of unequivocal evidence, aside from camera footage, played a crucial role in the decision.

A comparable situation occurred in a past Roma Juventus fixture, where Bryan Cristante avoided a ban for a similar offense. However, last season, Frosinone goalkeeper Stefano Turati was not as fortunate, receiving a suspension after a match against Napoli.

The inconsistency in disciplinary actions raises questions about how such cases are judged in Italian football.

Meanwhile, in Serie B, Sampdoria’s Alex Ferrari has been handed a suspension for blasphemous remarks.

According to an official statement, the Federal Prosecutor flagged Ferrari’s conduct after reviewing clear and indisputable television footage, which confirmed that the player had uttered an inappropriate expression at the 47th minute of the first half. As a result, Serie B’s sports judge, Ines Pisano, ruled that Ferrari will serve a one-match ban.

Ferrari’s suspension does not end there. The defender has been handed a total of three match bans one for blasphemous language, another for receiving a red card, and a third for making disrespectful remarks towards match officials.

This ruling underscores the strict stance Serie B authorities are taking against inappropriate conduct on the field.

While Martinez’s case appears to have been dismissed due to insufficient evidence, Ferrari’s punishment highlights the potential consequences players face when caught engaging in prohibited expressions during matches.
