Liverpool eye £32M move for Juventus star

Liverpool is setting its sights on bolstering the squad as three of their key players approach the final months of their contracts. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Reds, who maintained a quiet profile in the summer transfer window, are preparing for an active upcoming transfer period.

Under manager Arne Slot, Liverpool prioritized squad stability last summer but is now evaluating potential reinforcements to tackle upcoming challenges.

Slot’s plans to rejuvenate the squad follow a relatively inactive transfer period, where Federico Chiesa was the sole addition, yet to fully settle at Anfield. With Martín Zubimendi declining a move last winter, Liverpool’s focus has shifted to Juventus’ rising talent Kenan Yildiz.

Kenan Yildiz, who transitioned to Juventus from Bayern Munich’s academy, has established himself as a first-team regular in Italy.

Predominantly operating as a left winger, the Turkish youngster also showcases the versatility to excel as a central midfielder. His impressive performances this season have caught Liverpool’s attention.

Juventus, reportedly open to selling Yildiz for around £32 million, aims to fund a move for Newcastle United’s Sandro Tonali.

The potential transfer could also be influenced by Yildiz’s desire to emulate his national teammate Arda Güler, who made a high-profile switch to Real Madrid. A move to the Premier League could mark an exciting milestone for Yildiz.

While Yildiz’s addition would bring depth and quality to Liverpool’s attacking options, the club already boasts a strong forward lineup including Mohamed Salah, Luis Díaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, Darwin Núñez, and Harvey Elliott.

This wealth of attacking talent might make his signing a strategic move rather than an immediate necessity.

Liverpool’s reputation for precise and impactful transfer dealings ensures thorough consideration of all potential moves. If the club views Yildiz as a key player for long-term success, they may proceed with the acquisition.

The Reds’ ability to integrate emerging talent with experienced players has been central to their strategy under Slot’s management.

Liverpool’s approach to strengthening their squad reflects a balance of ambition and prudence. As the January transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on the Reds to see if they secure Yildiz as part of their plans for sustained success.
