Manchester United are reportedly edging closer to finalizing a deal that would send Jadon Sancho to Juventus and in return, the Red Devils are preparing to welcome Douglas Luiz, valued at £30 million, as a possible midfield reinforcement.
The English winger is now fully focused on joining the Italian giants this summer. Sancho, currently earning €10 million net per season at Old Trafford, has asked for at least €8 million a year to make the switch.
However, Juventus are sticking to their salary cap and are only willing to offer €6 million, possibly rising to €6.5 million with bonuses.
Despite this wage gap, both clubs are optimistic about reaching a compromise. Juve have reportedly offered €25 million for Sancho, to be paid in installments over several years, plus performance-related bonuses.
Manchester United are considering the proposal but are holding out for slightly better terms before greenlighting the move.
On the flip side, United are keen on signing Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz, who is expected to leave Juventus this summer.
The Serie A club are looking to offload the former Aston Villa star, whose spell in Italy has been underwhelming.
Valued at around £30 million (€35 million), Luiz is also attracting attention from other Premier League clubs including Newcastle United, Everton, and Fulham.
Notably, Newcastle can offer Champions League football a tempting factor for the 26-year-old.
While a straight swap between Sancho and Luiz is being considered, United reportedly prefer to first sell Sancho and then use the funds to pursue Luiz.
Juventus, on the other hand, are open to a swap to offload Luiz quickly and secure their attacking target.
If United boss Rúben Amorim sees Luiz as a crucial part of his midfield rebuild for the 2025–26 season, a swift deal could benefit both clubs.
With the transfer window heating up, this potential double move could significantly reshape United’s midfield and attack.
