Man City eyes Juventus star who Guardiola really likes

In what could signify one of the most intriguing transfer stories of the upcoming window, Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso has caught the attention of Premier League champions Manchester City.

The Cityzens are reportedly ready to make a substantial investment to bring the 24-year-old to the Etihad Stadium, as they look to rejuvenate their squad for the challenging 2025 season.

City’s interest in Cambiaso isn’t new; they had previously considered a move for him before his contract extension with Juventus in May.

However, according to Tutto Juve (via City Xtra), the English club’s scouts have continued to monitor Cambiaso’s performances closely, with Pep Guardiola said to be particularly enamored with the Italian’s versatility and skill.

Cambiaso, who can operate effectively on both the right and left side of the defense, has become a key component in Juventus’ setup under Thiago Motta.

His current contract, which runs until the summer of 2029, reflects Juventus’s commitment to him as a long-term asset, making any potential transfer a complex negotiation.

The urgency from Manchester City comes as they seek to address concerns over the aging and form of their current right-back, Kyle Walker.

With the Premier League champions looking to maintain their dominance both domestically and in Europe, they are planning significant investments, and Cambiaso is high on their list.

This transfer interest comes at an opportune moment for City, as they will face Juventus in their next Champions League match at the Allianz Stadium.
