Manchester clubs eyed two Juventus midfielders on the last day of the transfer market

The final hours of the transfer market always bring tension, last-minute negotiations, and unexpected twists. As the deadline approaches, clubs scramble to finalize deals, with some falling through at the last moment. Now that the dust has settled, new details are emerging about Juventus’ involvement in some of the late transfer talks.

According to Tuttosport via (Ilbianconero), Manchester United made a last-minute attempt to sign Douglas Luiz. The Brazilian midfielder, currently playing for Aston Villa, has been on the radar of both Manchester clubs.

However, despite their interest, an agreement was never reached in time for a transfer to materialize. Juventus was also monitoring Luiz’s situation closely, but no move was finalized before the window closed.

Meanwhile, Corriere dello Sport reports that Manchester City showed interest in Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli. At one stage during the transfer window, the Italian international was considered as a potential replacement for the injured Pedri at Barcelona.

However, despite speculation, Juventus never received an official offer from the Premier League champions, and Locatelli remained in Turin.

Despite interest from major European clubs, Juventus managed to retain both Douglas Luiz and Locatelli, keeping their midfield intact for the rest of the season.

While last-minute negotiations can often change a club’s plans, Juventus stood firm and decided to continue with their current squad as they aim to compete at the highest level.

The transfer market may be closed for now, but speculation is sure to continue, with clubs already preparing for future windows.
