Mo ShakeelI hope that all of you are having a wonderful time with your loved ones in these holidays. To bless your Christmas break, Here are our mid-season player ratings and review.
PLAYER REVIEW AND RATINGS:
Wojciech Szczesny: (5)
Starting with the Polish international, He gets a five from us, Szczesny was hugely criticized at the start of the season, His two mistakes against Udinise and one against Napoli have cost Juventus four points individually himself. Although, Szczesny has improved in the following weeks as Juventus whole backline has but further improvement is required from the keeper to get a higher rating at the end of the season.
Mattia Perin: (5.5)
It’s hard to judge Perin considering he’s only played four games this season but he gets a little over Szczesny for not making any individual mistake.
Alex Sandro: (4)
Very very dissappointing season so far from the Brazilian full back, Alex Sandro has deservedly lost his position to Luca Pellegrini and now has to improve to be a permanent starter again.
Luca Pellegrini: (6)
As mentioned above, Pellegrini has won the left back spot over Alex Sandro and the young Italian left back has been exciting to watch in recent weeks. Pellegrini gets a average six from us.
Mattia De Sciglio: (6)
De Sciglio was quite good in the start of the season but the injury held him back. De Sciglio missed a whole month due to injury but now has returned and will be hoping to comeback into Allegri’s starting line ups. The good start at the season gets him a average six.
Danilo: (5.5)
Danilo was a important player last season under Andrea Pirlo but his form and has dropped as compared to last season. Danilo also picked up a injury few weeks ago and is still facing physical issues. His season so far only rewards him with a below average rating.
Juan Cuadrado: (7)
Juan Cuadrado continues to impress. Cuadrado has scored 4 goals this season, he has often played as a right back but also featured as a right side midfielder. Cuadrado’s goal against Fiorentina in the stoppage time was very crucial in securing all 3 points for Juventus.
Leonardo Bonucci: (6.5)
A better season for Bonucci as compared to last year. Bonucci has also scored some vital penalties, not to forget the two against Lazio. His contribution has been reasonable so far this season.
Matthjis De Ligt: (7)
As always, no individual costly mistakes from the Dutch wall. As his agent Mino Raiola continues to spark controversies, De Ligt’s performances have been solid. This rewards him a good seven.
Giorgio Chiellini: (6)
The captain hasn’t played enough this well. It’s hard to judge Chiellini on this season so far so we’ll just leave it as a average six.
Daniele Rugani: (6)
Again, hard to judge Rugani so far, He’s only made 4 appearances. Juventus have not conceded a single goal when Rugani has been on the pitch this season, this stat rewards him a average six from us.
Arthur Melo: (5)
Arthur doesn’t seem to be in Allegri’s plans, the midfielder has been decent in the last couple of games but not enough to consider his contribution’s as average over the course of the season. Arthur gets a below average five.
Aaron Ramsey: (4)
Ah, No words. We all know the story, Injuries. We’ll leave Ramsey at a very dissappointing four and hope for a solution in the coming month.
Adrien Rabiot: (4.5)
Very dissappointing again, Whether on the left side of the midfield or in a double pivot, Rabiot has been abysmal this season. Nothing more than a very below average four and half.
Rodrigo Bentancur: (5)
The Uruguayan has recorded three assists this season which is most of all Juventus’s centre midfielders but the numbers don’t show the full story, Bentancur has been dissappointing and can only be rewarded with a below average five.
Weston Mckennie: (6.5)
Mckennie had some issues at the start of th season but now seems to be settled with Allegri. Mckennie has scored two goals this season but more than his goals is the energy he brings.
Manuel Locatelli (7.5)
As we call him, The Mr. Reliable, Locatelli has scored two goals and recorded two assists. His goal against Torino which secured all three points for Juve gives him extra points as well. Locatelli gets a good seven and half.
Federico Bernardeschi: (7)
The surprise of the season so far for sure. Bernardeschi has been sensational in the last month. Bernardeschi has recorded 5 assits this season. This rewards him a good seven.
Dejan Kulusevski: (5.5)
Kulusevski has failed to impress Allegri, The swede hasn’t started much games and it’s hard to judge him. A player with potential but has failed to show it. Kulusevski is reportedly on the market shall a club with a reasonable offer arrive.
Federico Chiesa: (6.5)
One of our favourites for sure, Chiesa has scored 3 goals this season. Two of them being very important against Chelsea and Spezia. Chiesa now seems set to return after the Christmas break and hopefully he’ll once again comeback with a bang. The contributions so far from him rewards him a above average six and half.
Paulo Dybala: (7.5)
Paulo Dybala is Juventus top scorer so far this season with eight goals. Dybala is one of the contenders for player of the season for sure. Although, some physical knocks have been holding him back but he gets a good seven and half.
Kaio Jorge: (5.5)
Hard to judge the young Brazilian star, He’s not been given enough opportunities so far and is still waiting to score his first goal in a Bianconeri shirt.
Moise Kean: (6.5)
The homegrown Italian has returned with some important goals against Roma and Malmo. Kean has scored 4 goals this season and gets a above average six and half.
Alvaro Morata: (7)
As always, highs and lows with Morata. Morata is Juventus second top scorer with seven goals. The seven may sound a bit generous but his goals have been valuable for the Bianconeri.
