AC Milan are exploring options to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season, with Mateo Retegui of Atalanta and Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus among the main targets.

The Rossoneri are facing uncertainty in the centre-forward role. Luka Jovic is out of contract, and Tammy Abraham has returned to his parent club following the end of his loan spell.

Currently, the main attacking options are Santiago Gimenez and the young Francesco Camarda, though the latter might go out on loan to gain experience.

Retegui and Vlahovic are two serious candidates being considered to bolster new head coach Massimiliano Allegri’s squad. The team is looking to bounce back after a disappointing eighth-place finish in Serie A.

There have already been contacts with Atalanta regarding Retegui, who has also impressed with the Italian national team. However, no specific transfer fee has been mentioned yet.

Meanwhile, Dusan Vlahovic is another intriguing option. He’s reportedly close to leaving Juventus, but his high salary could prove to be a stumbling block for Milan.

New sporting director Igli Tare is said to have a list of four or five potential attacking signings. Both Retegui and Vlahovic are high on that list. While Vlahovic might be easier to acquire due to contract factors, convincing Atalanta to sell Retegui could require a substantial offer.
