Juventus manager Thiago Motta has confirmed that six players will be absent for the crucial Serie A match against Atalanta on Sunday.
Despite recent struggles in the cup competitions, the Bianconeri are in strong form in the league, riding a five-match winning streak that has brought them back into contention for the Scudetto.
With the upcoming match against Atalanta, a direct rival in the race for the title, Motta emphasized the importance of his team’s focus and determination to secure a positive result. The Juventus coach provided an update on the unavailable players in his pre-match press conference.
“We’ve had an excellent week of preparation. Those who are selected tomorrow are fully ready to face a strong team like Atalanta,” Motta stated.
“Unfortunately, we’ll be missing Gleison Bremer, Juan Cabal, Arkadiusz Milik, Jonas Jakob Rouhi, Douglas Luiz, Francisco Conceição, and Nicolo Savona for this match. Our attention is entirely on the task at hand, and we’re not allowing anything to distract us,” he added.
Motta spoke about the challenges his squad will face, emphasizing the quality of their opponents and the need to execute the tactical work they’ve been focusing on.
“We’ve been working hard since day one. It’s crucial to find balance, and sometimes the added pressure can play into the hands of the opposition. However, I have full confidence in this team. They know where they stand and where they want to go,” he said.
The coach stressed the importance of maintaining focus on the present match and building on their earlier performance against Atalanta, despite the result.
“We need to concentrate solely on the Atalanta match, just as we do for every game. In the reverse fixture, we played well but came away without the win. This shows the level of competition we face, and we will continue to push forward with our plan to get the victory.”
Motta also praised Teun Koopmeiners, who will face his former team, and the young Kenan Yildiz.
“Koopmeiners has been outstanding since joining us. I’m really happy for him after his goal in the last match. He’s a key player both on and off the field, contributing a lot to the team, and I’m sure he’ll keep improving.”
He also spoke highly of Yildiz, highlighting the potential of the young midfielder.
“Kenan is doing well and must continue developing. He’s still very young, with immense potential. He’s humble and eager to learn, and he’s been consistently putting in the work this season.”
With a strong squad and unwavering focus, Juventus is preparing to take on Atalanta in what promises to be an intense encounter.
