Newcastle United are reportedly considering a summer move for Juventus’ young defender Nicolo Savona, but only if Valentino Livramento departs the club.

The 22-year-old Italian talent has caught the attention of the Premier League side as they explore defensive reinforcements.

Savona, who can play across the backline, has emerged as a top target due to his versatility and potential.

Savona, a product of the Juventus academy, broke into the first team at the start of the 2024/25 season.

Since then, the defender has impressed with over 2,500 minutes in 40 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 1 assist. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with several European clubs reportedly tracking him.

Newcastle are in the market for a new defender, especially a centre-back, but Savona’s ability to cover multiple roles makes him a valuable option.

However, the Magpies will only make a formal move if Valentino Livramento, currently linked with Manchester City, leaves the club this summer.

Livramento’s potential exit could open the door for Savona’s arrival at St. James’ Park. Newcastle view the Juventus youngster as a long-term project who can adapt to Premier League football and grow within Eddie Howe’s system.

Newcastle are not expected to rush into a deal. Any negotiations with Juventus for Savona are likely to take place later in the window, depending on what happens with Livramento.

With Newcastle hoping to keep hold of their English full-back, Savona’s transfer will hinge on developments in the coming weeks.
