Nicolo Fagioli bids farewell to Juventus fans after Fiorentina move

Nicolo Fagioli has officially left Juventus to join Fiorentina before the closure of the January transfer window. This move marks the end of a challenging period for the young midfielder, who struggled for game time under the new management.

Fagioli, a product of Juventus’ renowned youth academy, was once considered one of the club’s most promising talents. His technical skills and composure on the ball earned him a place in Italy’s squad for Euro 2024, despite being sidelined for much of the previous season due to a ban.

His potential had been widely recognized, making his departure from the club a significant moment for both the player and Juventus fans.

However, his fortunes took a turn when Thiago Motta took charge at Juventus. The new manager’s tactical preferences left Fagioli on the fringes of the squad, leading to Juventus’ decision to send him to Fiorentina.

The move offers him a fresh start and the opportunity to showcase his abilities at a club where he is expected to play a more prominent role.

The deal with Fiorentina is initially a loan, but there is a possibility of a permanent transfer should certain conditions be met. Despite leaving his boyhood club, Fagioli has expressed gratitude towards Juventus and its supporters.

He also reunited with his former teammate, Moise Kean, at Fiorentina and took the opportunity to send a heartfelt message to the Juventus fans.

“I’m very sorry because I’ve been here for 10-11 years. I’ve bonded so much with this club, my teammates, the Juve family, and the fans,” Fagioli said, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb. “I thank the fans for supporting me even in difficult moments. I wish them all the best for the season.”

While Fagioli’s departure is disappointing for some Juventus supporters, the club had to respect the manager’s decision and move forward.
