Juventus prepare new offer for Barcelona star

The summer transfer window could get even more dramatic for Barcelona as reports emerge that Juventus are preparing a fresh attempt to sign defender Ronald Araujo.
According to journalist Hugo Scoccia from Sport, the Serie A giants are still eager to bring the Uruguayan center-back to Turin a move that may also influence Barcelona’s plans to sign Nico Williams.
Juventus had already tried to land Araujo during the January transfer window, but their approach fell short as the defender renewed his contract with Barça.
Despite that, the Italian side has not given up and now believes Araujo could be the ideal reinforcement for their defense.
The twist? His potential sale may be key to helping Barcelona free up wages and complete the long-anticipated move for Athletic Club’s Nico Williams, a player the Catalan club has been targeting to strengthen their attack.
Financial restrictions remain tight at Barça, and offloading a high-salary player like Araujo would give them some room to maneuver.
What’s making the situation even more interesting is the rumored drop in Araujo’s release clause to €65 million starting July 1.
That detail could increase the pressure on Barça to make a decision quickly and may open the door for Juventus to strike a deal that satisfies both club and player.
However, the decision won’t be easy. Both sporting director Deco and new coach Hansi Flick are said to be in favor of keeping Araujo at the heart of the defense. His leadership and defensive reliability have made him one of the most important figures in the squad.
With Barça trying to reshape their squad this summer, especially to accommodate exciting prospects like Williams, a lot could depend on how negotiations unfold in the coming weeks.
Barcelona fans will be watching closely. Selling Araujo could accelerate their efforts to bring in a dynamic forward like Nico Williams, but it would also mean parting ways with a defensive cornerstone.
Expect the next few weeks to be crucial especially with Juventus reportedly preparing a compelling offer.
