From Tuesday, February 11, to Wednesday, February 19, an eight-day period will define Juventus’ season. On the sporting front, qualification for the next round of the Champions League is at stake, along with a crucial match against Inter.
Economically, advancing to the Round of 16 would bring significant financial benefits to the club, adding to the substantial earnings Juventus has already secured. So far, the club has collected approximately 63 million euros, a figure that could grow considerably.
According to Ilbianconero, the new Champions League format has already generated significant revenue, but progressing further is crucial for Juventus, especially after a January transfer window that likely exceeded the club’s initial budget. But how much would Juve earn if they manage to defeat PSV in the playoffs?
The reward for reaching the Round of 16 is 11 million euros. But that’s not all.
Juventus would also benefit from massive ticket sales for a potential Round of 16 match against Inter or Arsenal. The club’s record for matchday revenue was set during the 2019 quarter final against Ajax, surpassing 5 million euros.
Juventus would aim to break this record. Additionally, there are performance-related bonuses: each win in the Champions League is worth 2.1 million euros, while a draw earns 700,000 euros.
Considering all these revenue streams, advancing past the Champions League playoffs would secure Juventus earnings ranging between 16 and 20 million euros.
