Del Piero praises Kenan Yildiz

Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero has spoken with pride about Kenan Yildiz, the young forward many fans see as his true successor.

Since Del Piero left Juventus in 2012, players like Carlos Tevez, Paul Pogba, and Paulo Dybala have worn the famous Number 10 shirt. But many believe Yildiz is the one who most closely plays like the Italian icon.

Before Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Atalanta, Yildiz spotted Del Piero working as a TV pundit on the pitch. The 20-year-old stopped his warm-up to hug his childhood hero, creating a touching moment for fans.

After the game, Del Piero said he enjoys the comparison and praised Yildiz for his mentality and performances.

“I like the comparison, of course. I’m happy for him. He’s a great guy,”. “Kenan works hard for the team, makes runs, scores goals, and is now becoming a complete player, a complete number 10. That’s great for him and for Juventus.”

Del Piero also pointed out another important player for Juve  Khephren Thuram.

“The midfield is always key, and between Yildiz and Thuram, they are probably the two main players,” he explained.

Thuram, however, had to leave the game in the second half after a small injury. Coach Igor Tudor hopes to have him back for the upcoming Champions League match against Villarreal.
