Ex-Man Utd striker Louis Saha has delivered a pointed message to his former club, insisting Manchester United should pursue Dusan Vlahović at Juventus over Benjamin Šeško from RB Leipzig.

In an interview (via Metro and Sportskeeda), Saha said: “Jadon Sancho has been linked in a swap for Dusan Vlahović, he is a top striker. … His numbers are good, his profile is good, he has experience, it would be a good signing in my eyes.

“United need guaranteed goalscorers, they need good characters, and at the moment they have four players who don’t seem to want to protect and play for the badge, they are not children, that is a sad thing.”

United are indeed hunting a new No. 9. Šeško has generated serious interest across the Premier League — Newcastle have lodged a bid believed to be near £70‑75 million, and United remain in contention, though they face competition for offloading players to fund any move.

Nonetheless, Saha and others view Vlahović as the more dependable option, particularly given that Juventus seems prepared to unload him.

After two injury-affected years and the arrival of Randal Kolo Muani on loan last winter, the Serbian striker has fallen out of favour and may be available for as little as €30 million, far below his previous €83 million transfer fee.

Last season, Vlahović made 43 appearances in all competitions for Juventus, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists. Despite the lack of consistency expected from a marquee buy, he remains a proven template of what United are looking for.

By contrast, Šeško is younger—just 22—but largely unproven at elite level. The same financial constraints that make the Slovenian appealing may ultimately tilt United toward Vlahović.

With Šeško’s price seemingly anchored around €70‑75 million and Newcastle already ahead in the race, United may see Vlahović as a quicker, lower-risk solution—especially given his Premier League-style game and experience.

Amid pressure to strengthen before the season starts, Louis Saha’s message is clear: United need someone who scores goals, shows character, and understands the badge.

While the club’s hierarchy debates whether to push harder for Šeško or opt for the short-term certainty of Vlahović, the Serbian striker seems poised for renewed attention under Ruben Amorim’s squad-building ethos.
