Chelsea are being linked with a possible move for Juventus midfielder Manuel Locatelli in the January transfer window.
According to The Daily Briefing, several Premier League clubs including Newcastle, Aston Villa, and West Ham are also interested in the 27-year-old.
Chelsea already have strong midfield options with Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, but the club is worried about Romeo Lavia, who has struggled with injuries since joining. Because of this, they may see Locatelli as a good short-term solution.

Locatelli is known as a powerful box-to-box player who could add depth to the squad. While he may not arrive as a first-choice starter, Chelsea view him as a smart market opportunity.
The club has shown before that they are willing to sign players outside their usual “young talent” strategy if they believe the deal is good value. Locatelli would also not demand very high wages, which makes the move more realistic.

For now, Chelsea fans will have to wait and see if the Italian midfielder’s name continues to be linked with the club in the coming months.
