Juventus slow down move for Tottenham star because of Non-EU rule
Juventus are rethinking their plans to sign Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma as complications with non-EU player registration arise.
Earlier this month, the Italian club had shown strong interest in the 28-year-old Mali international, reportedly preparing a €15 million bid.
Juventus were said to have no issue allocating one of their non-EU player slots for Bissouma.
However, things have changed.
Now, Juventus are prioritizing a move for Nahuel Molina from Atlético Madrid. The Argentine right-back is close to joining the Turin side, and crucially, would occupy the club’s final available non-EU slot.
This development means Bissouma’s move is currently off the table. the idea of signing the former Brighton midfielder is now “furthest away,” as Juventus look at alternative midfielders who would not require a non-EU slot.
With Bissouma now unlikely, Juventus are exploring other options such as Sander Berge from Fulham and Sofyan Amrabat, currently at Fenerbahçe. Both would be easier to sign under the current squad restrictions.
Unless Juventus decide to abandon the Molina transfer, it’s unlikely Bissouma will be heading to Serie A this summer.
