Key forwards Dusan Vlahovic and Francisco Conceição are currently doubtful due to recent injuries, prompting coach Thiago Motta to consider alternative strategies for the crucial Serie A fixture.

Dusan Vlahovic, who played 70 minutes in the recent Supercoppa Italiana semi-final against AC Milan, has been diagnosed with muscle fatigue.

Although the issue is not deemed serious, his availability for the upcoming derby remains uncertain.

Vlahovic underwent diagnostic tests at J|Medical, which ruled out significant injuries; however, his condition will be monitored daily to determine his fitness for the match.

Francisco Conceição suffered a setback during the warm-up before the Supercoppa match against Milan, experiencing discomfort in his flexor muscle.

Subsequent assessments have excluded severe injuries, but his participation in the derby is in doubt. Conceição will undergo daily evaluations to monitor his recovery progress.

In light of these potential absences, Thiago Motta is exploring various options to reinforce the attack.

Nicolás González, who substituted for Vlahovic during the Supercoppa match, is a leading candidate to spearhead the offense. González has previously been described by Motta as a “true” forward, indicating the coach’s confidence in his abilities to lead the line.

Timothy Weah presents another viable option. Having recently returned from injury, Weah has experience playing as a central striker under Motta’s system. His versatility and pace could provide the dynamism needed against Torino’s defense.

Additionally, young talent Kenan Yıldız has demonstrated adaptability across various attacking positions. In the latest match against Milan, Yıldız was deployed on the right flank, showcasing his flexibility and readiness to contribute wherever needed.

The potential unavailability of Conceição also necessitates adjustments on the right wing. Weah and González could be deployed in their natural positions on the flank, while Yıldız’s recent performance on the right adds another dimension to Motta’s tactical considerations.

Furthermore, Andrea Cambiaso, traditionally a left-back, has previously been utilized in more advanced roles and could be considered for an attacking position if required. Juventus continues to grapple with the prolonged absence of Arek Milik.

The Polish striker, initially expected to return in the autumn, underwent a second knee surgery and subsequently suffered a calf injury, further delaying his comeback.

Milik’s unavailability limits Motta’s options for a traditional center-forward, making the potential absences of Vlahovic and Conceição even more impactful.
