Juventus have turned their attention to Flamengo’s rising star Wesley Vinícius França Lima, with a potential transfer move on the horizon as both clubs gear up for the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

Born on September 6, 2003, in Açailândia, Maranhão (Brazil), Wesley began his football journey with Atlético Tubarão before joining Flamengo’s youth ranks. He made his senior debut on December 9, 2021, in a Série A clash against Atlético Goianiense.

Since then, Wesley has developed into a promising right-back with a distinct attacking flair. Standing at 171 cm, he’s known for his explosive pace, strong dribbling, and stamina that allows him to cover large distances up and down the pitch. Though primarily a defender, his versatility has also seen him deployed as a wing-back.

Wesley’s progress hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Brazilian national team. He made his debut for the Seleção on March 20, 2025, in a win over Colombia, adding international experience to his growing resume.

Reports suggest that Juventus could meet with Flamengo during the Club World Cup in the U.S., where both clubs will be competing.

The Italian giants see Wesley as a potential future asset, especially with Brazilian veterans Danilo and Alex Sandro already offering experience and familiarity with the Turin club.

Transfermarkt currently values the 21-year-old at approximately €4 million, a fee well within reach for Juventus.

Given Wesley’s strong dribbling stats  he completed 100% of his attempted dribbles last season  and his adaptability, he’s seen as a smart long-term investment for the Bianconeri.

With Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli and Flamengo officials both in the U.S., discussions could accelerate in the coming days.

Should a deal be struck, Wesley may become the next in a long line of Brazilians to don the black and white jersey of Juventus.
