Juventus could seal return of past prospect to aid Igor Tudor
Portuguese defender Renato Veiga has not ruled out the possibility of returning to Juventus, a club he still holds in high regard after his brief loan spell.
Although his previous stint in Turin was cut short before the FIFA Club World Cup, the 21-year-old has maintained close ties with both former teammates and Juventus staff, expressing a clear interest in donning the black and white shirt once again.
Interestingly, Juventus is even mentioned in his Instagram bio — a subtle yet telling sign of his affection for the club.
Currently back at Chelsea, Veiga finds himself at a crossroads. Despite the London club’s efforts to recall him in time for the Club World Cup, he was surprisingly left out of the squad list and categorized among the outcasts.

Renato Veiga of Juventus celebrates after the Serie A match between Venezia and Juventus at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo on May 25, 2025 in Venice, Italy.
This unexpected decision has deeply frustrated the Portuguese player, prompting him to reevaluate his future.
The idea of returning to Juventus, especially under coach Igor Tudor — who reportedly appreciated Veiga’s style and potential from day one — is something the player welcomes wholeheartedly.
Juventus, for its part, also appears interested in the reunion. The club is keen on reinforcing its defense, particularly given ongoing uncertainties surrounding the returns of players like Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal.
Veiga’s return could bring stability and depth to a defensive line that remains under construction.
However, there’s a key obstacle in the way: outgoings. Juventus must first prioritize offloading surplus players before they can proceed with any new acquisitions, even on loan.

Inter Milan’s Argentine forward Lautaro Martinez vies with Juventus Portuguese defender Renato Veiga during the Italian Serie A football match…
This has become the primary focus of Damien Comolli, who remains in Turin to handle the club’s transfer dealings.
Efforts are being made to streamline the squad, especially in the defensive department, where names like Lloyd Kelly, Tiago Djaló, and possibly Daniele Rugani are reportedly available for transfer.
The sale of at least one of these defenders could create the necessary space — both financially and within the squad — to bring Veiga back. Of course, Chelsea’s cooperation will also be essential.
The Premier League side recently suffered a significant blow with the ACL injury of Levi Colwill, which could complicate any outgoing loans.
If Chelsea agrees, and Juventus manages to complete some sales, Veiga’s return could move from hope to reality.
