Victor Osimhen’s move to Juventus might be possible or just rumors

The name Victor Osimhen is once again being linked to Juventus, fueling speculation about a potential summer transfer that could shake up the Serie A landscape.

The Nigerian striker, currently on loan at Galatasaray, remains a highly sought-after player, with Juventus reportedly considering him as a key target for the upcoming transfer window.

Osimhen’s contractual status plays a crucial role in the ongoing rumors. Napoli extended his contract until 2027 before sending him on loan, with a reported release clause of €75 million.

This clause gives Napoli a strong position in negotiations, especially given the growing interest from Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United  the latter being considered the frontrunner for his signature.

For Juventus, acquiring Osimhen would be far from straightforward. The financial aspect presents a significant challenge, as the club continues to focus on cost management.

With Osimhen earning around €10 million per year, his salary would be difficult to accommodate under Juventus’ current financial strategy unless adjustments are made.

Recent speculation linking Osimhen to Juventus gained momentum following comments by former Roma striker Roberto Pruzzo. Speaking on Radio Radio, Pruzzo claimed to have received information from a reliable source close to the player’s entourage, suggesting that Osimhen could be heading to Turin next season.

Adding further intrigue is Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who previously played a key role in bringing Osimhen to Napoli.

Should Juventus opt to part ways with Dusan Vlahovic, Osimhen would be a logical replacement due to his physical strength, speed, and finishing ability  qualities that fit well with the system of incoming manager Thiago Motta.

Reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Ilbianconero),  Juventus’ interest, the club faces obstacles in financing the move. However, there could be a potential lifeline through Italy’s Growth Decree, which provides tax incentives for players who arrived in Italy after 2019.

This provision, although repealed, still applies to certain players, meaning that Juventus could benefit from a reduced tax burden when covering Osimhen’s salary. Instead of a €20 million gross cost, the club would pay around €13 million, making the deal somewhat more viable.

While on loan at Galatasaray, Osimhen has continued to demonstrate why he is considered one of the top strikers in the world. In 28 appearances, he has logged 2,123 minutes, scoring 22 goals and providing five assists.

His performances have reinforced his reputation as a prolific goal scorer and a key attacking asset, ensuring that multiple top clubs remain interested in securing his services.

Osimhen’s potential move to Juventus remains a complex issue, hinging on financial feasibility and competition from other European giants. While his skillset would be a valuable addition to Juventus, the club must navigate economic constraints to make the deal a reality.

Whether Osimhen will don the black and white jersey next season remains uncertain, but the speculation is unlikely to die down anytime soon.
