Reflecting on Marko Pjaca’s troubles so far as the Croatian is set to return

Juventus bought Marko Pjaca in 2016 from Dinamo Zagreb for a transfer fee of €23M. Pjaca had scored 28 goals in 91 appearances for Dinamo Zagreb. When Pjaca arrived at Juventus, In his first season he made 20 appearances and only scored 1 goal.

After spending just one year at Juventus, Marko Pjaca was loaned out to Bundesliga club Schalke 04, where he made only 9 appearances, scoring 2 goals and 2 assists.

The next year Pjaca was loaned out to Fiorentina, Pjaca made 19 appearances for Fiorentina, scoring 1 goal and assisting 1.

In 2019, Pjaca was loaned to Belgian PL side Anderlecht where he made only 4 appearances and scored 1 goal.

The very next year, Pjaca was loaned at Genoa, where he made 37 appearances but only scored 3 goals and assisted 2.

This year, Pjaca was on loan at Torino where he made 26 appearances and scored 3 goals. Torino have already confirmed it to Juventus that they won’t be purchasing him on a permanent deal.

Hence, Pjaca is set to return, Pjaca uptil now has never shown that he could play a crucial rule at Juventus. The €23M fee Juventus paid for him in 2016 has turned out to be a huge waste. Pjaca will now enter the final year of his contract at Juventus, it remains to be seen what the future holds for him. The chances of staying at Juventus are pretty slim for the Croatian.
