Ronald Araújo open to Juventus move

Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo has reportedly approved a move to Juventus this January, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. Negotiations between the clubs are underway, with the Bianconeri pushing for a loan deal.

Juventus has set their sights on Araújo to strengthen their backline following injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal, who are both sidelined for the rest of the season due to knee injuries. Additionally, Danilo has been frozen out of the squad, leaving Juventus in urgent need of defensive reinforcements.

Despite limited playing time at Barcelona, the Uruguay international holds a Spanish passport, making him eligible for the move without conflicting with Juventus’ non-EU player quota.

Coach Thiago Motta is reportedly keen to secure reinforcements as soon as possible, aiming to finalize the first deal by the end of next week. Araújo’s arrival could bolster the squad as Juventus navigates a challenging season.

In addition to Araújo, Juventus is also pursuing Feyenoord’s David Hancko. However, negotiations for the Slovakian defender are expected to be more complex, as the Dutch club values the player at €30 million.
