There are enough transfer rumours involving Juventus, even though the window won’t open until June. Max Statman takes a look at some of the most important stories from the past days, involving Youri Tielemans, Alessio Romagnoli, Sven Botman and Owen Wijndal.
Youri Tielemans, who’s on Juve’s list according to journalist Nicola Balice, will not renew his contract at Leicester City. Het Nieuwsblad reported that the Belgian midfielder would like to join a top club with title ambitions. His contract expires in June 2023, so Leicester won’t be able to ask the 55 million euros Tielemans is valued at this summer.
Romagnoli and Botman
Balice also told Max Statman that Juventus is ‘thinking’ about some players to bring in on a free transfer. The name of AC Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli is among them.
His contract expires this summer and according to Daniele Longo of calciomercato.com, the chances of the 27-year-old Romagnoli joining Juve are at 70 percent. “It could be a possibility, but no advanced talks yet”, transfer expert Nicolò Schira told Max Statman.
Another defender on Juve’s radar is Sven Botman of French champions Lille. AC Milan is in pole position to sign the Dutchman and even met with his agents on Thursday. There’s an agreemenet in principle for a contract of 5 years and a salary of 2,5 million euros per year, Schira reported. Milan are now working to find an agreement with Lille for Botman, who’s price should be around 30 million euros.
Owen Wijndal
Wijndal is a bit more unknown compared to the names mentoined above. The 22-year-old left back plays for AZ Alkmaar in The Netherlands, the old club of Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners. Wijndal has played 28 matches this season, in which he scored once and gave 10 assists. His contract expires next summer and according to Paolo Nonmollo, talks with his club are already taking place. Wijndal has played 11 games for the Dutch national team and is valued at 12 million euros.
