Juventus are looking to bolster their defence in January due to a lack of defensive depth. This is caused by two separate ACL injuries to Juan Cabal and Bremer which put Juventus in jeopardy. Especially after Juventus sold defenders in the summer window to fund other transfers.
Juventus has been linked to many centre backs to Juventus. Deals for Milan Skriniar and David Hancko have fallen through so far. Juventus asked about Kevin Danso from RC Lens on loan and the offer was declined.
Talks have begun with Barcelona for bringing in Ronald Araujo on loan, but Juventus want to bring in two centre backs. A deal for Antonio Silva looked over and now the deal could be back on in the next few days.
This is because Silva’s agent Jorge Mendes is set to talk to Benfica to see if a deal is possible. Mendes would like to bring Silva to Turin due to the fact that he already has a good relationship with the club. This is because he helped bring Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin.

If Benfica would agree to a sale of Silva in January, then Juventus would make a second offer. This is because Juventus has already made one bid for Silva which totalled to 35 million euros (5 million for a loan fee and buy on of 30).
However, Juventus can’t afford to go overboard on Silva because there is a crucial need to bring in another centre back and a striker.
If Araujo comes in on loan Juventus would only have to cover some of his wages most likely. However, a striker will likely still have to come in on a permeant deal.
