Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez may be on his way out of Turin, with the club reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United.
The Bianconeri have made the 25-year-old English winger one of their top transfer targets this summer. Talks between Juventus and Manchester United are believed to be progressing, with the Red Devils ready to part ways with Sancho, who has spent the last 18 months on loan at Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea.
The biggest challenge in completing the deal appears to be agreeing personal terms. Sancho currently earns around €10 million per season at United—a figure Juventus are unwilling to match. However, reports suggest that the player is open to taking a pay cut to make the move to Turin happen.
Despite also chasing Porto winger Francisco Conceicao, Juventus are not dropping their pursuit of Sancho. The club hopes to sign both players, but this could lead to a reshuffle in the attacking department.
One player whose future is now uncertain is Nico Gonzalez. The Argentine joined Juventus last summer from Fiorentina for around €35 million but has struggled to make a consistent impact. While he showed glimpses of quality, his performances fell short of expectations.
Now, with two potential new wingers incoming, Gonzalez could be the odd man out. Juventus would reportedly be open to selling the 27-year-old if they receive a suitable offer.
If both Sancho and Conceicao join the club, Gonzalez may be forced to leave due to a lack of playing time. The Bianconeri are determined to reshape their squad under Thiago Motta, and this shake-up on the wings is just one part of a larger rebuild.
Whether or not Sancho arrives, the message is clear: Juventus are not afraid to make tough decisions to improve their squad.
