Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi is set to hold decisive talks with the club’s leadership on Tuesday, a meeting that could determine whether he remains in charge next season.

The discussions follow Inter’s recent disappointment in the UEFA Champions League final a result that has left fans disheartened and cast a shadow over Inzaghi’s future at the helm.

In the aftermath of the loss, Inzaghi sparked speculation by telling reporters: “I can’t say if I’ll go to the USA for the Club World Cup.” The ambiguity of his statement has widely been interpreted as a hint that a departure may be imminent.

While no official decision has been announced, several sources close to the club suggest that a separation is becoming increasingly likely.

Inzaghi’s comments and the mood within the club point toward a possible end to his tenure, despite his role in guiding Inter to domestic success in recent seasons.

Multiple potential paths lie ahead for the 48-year-old tactician.

Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal has tabled a lucrative two-year contract offer worth €50 million, with an option to extend.

The opportunity to lead one of the region’s top sides combined with the staggering financial package could tempt Inzaghi to embrace a new challenge outside Europe.

Alternatively, Inzaghi may opt for a professional sabbatical, using the time to rest and reflect before committing to a new project.

This approach would mirror that of Massimiliano Allegri, who stepped away from coaching for a period before returning to Juventus.

Inzaghi has also previously attracted interest from Juventus  sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli held informal talks with Inzaghi’s agent, Tullio Tinti, during a period of managerial uncertainty at the Turin-based club.

Although the talks didn’t progress, Inzaghi was reportedly among the names under consideration, alongside Gian Piero Gasperini and others.

The potential appeal of joining Juventus may not have been solely professional—relocating to Turin would allow Inzaghi to remain close to his family in Milan, a factor believed to weigh heavily in his decisions.

As Tuesday’s meeting approaches, speculation continues to mount. Should Inzaghi and Inter mutually agree to part ways, he will face a defining career crossroads: accept a high-profile move abroad, take time off from coaching, or wait for the right opportunity in Italy.

What’s clear is that Simone Inzaghi’s future at Inter Milan is anything but certain. The outcome of Tuesday’s discussions could mark the end of a significant chapter for both the club and the coach.
