Juventus has reopened talks to sell Timothy Weah to Ligue 1 side Marsielle once again. This came after talks stalled because Juventus where looking to sign and sell other players such as signing Francisco Concieção and selling Alberto Costa. Now that those deals have finished or slowed Juventus can get back to talks with Marseille.

This doesn’t mean the deal was in doubt as Fabiana Della Valle wrote for Gazzetta. Weah turned down a move to the Premier League with Nottingham Forrest to move back to Ligue 1 with Marseille. Weah has also already agreed on a five year contract with Marsielle to make sure he lands there next season.

Now Juventus need to figure out a compromise with Marseille once again and there is a new idea being floated. The deal could be made a loan with an obligation to buy. The fee to buy Weah would likely be somewhere in the range of €15M. However, Juventus could also be interested in a swap deal with Marsielle.

This is because Igor Tudor is a big fan of Marsielle, Argentina centre back Leonardo Balerdi. However at this point in time Marseille won’t sell Balerdi to anyone so that deal is off the table, but Tudor is still getting his next signing ready to strengthen the defence.

That name is Jonathan Clauss from OGC Nice on the right flank as a replacement for Timothy Weah or Alberto Costa if either or both leave Juventus this summer. Clauss is liked by both of Igor Tudor and Damien Comolli and has seen as a cost efficient option to build a squad that is liked by Igor Tudor.
