Teun Koopmeiners optimistic ahead of PSV clash

Koopmeiners, the Dutch midfielder, remains optimistic about Juventus’ upcoming match against PSV Eindhoven. Following a strong performance against Inter Milan, Koopmeiners addressed the media, emphasizing the team’s positive mindset and determination to secure a victory.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Koopmeiners expressed confidence in the squad’s preparation.

“The spirit is good. We have prepared well, even after the Inter match, and the morale is positive. The team feels great, and we know it will be a tough game, but our goal is to win,” he stated.

He acknowledged the challenges of facing PSV in their home stadium but insisted that Juventus is ready to compete with intensity and energy.

“This is a different competition, a different game. Nothing is guaranteed. We must be aggressive, play with urgency, and adapt to the demands of the match. The team understands this well.”

Koopmeiners highlighted the differences between the upcoming fixture and previous encounters.

“They have a different playing style. The result is determined over two matches, and this time, we are playing in their stadium, with their fans supporting them. We start from a 2-1 lead, but we cannot afford to be passive. We want to win.”

He stressed the importance of maintaining the team’s usual style of play.

“If we sit back and wait for the result, we won’t perform at our best. We need to play with energy, apply pressure, and control possession. That is when we are at our strongest.”

Koopmeiners also discussed his personal form and contributions to the team.

“I was disappointed that my goal against Lille was disallowed. However, I always aim to help the team, whether through assists or goals. I have always considered myself a team player, and winning is the most important thing for me. While scoring is great, creating chances for teammates is just as crucial. I want to contribute more with assists and goals.”

Despite occasionally starting from the bench, Koopmeiners remains focused on the team’s success.

“Am I motivated by not always starting? Honestly, I remain calm and positive. We have many strong players, and I trust my ability to contribute when called upon. Even from the bench, I stay focused on helping the team win. That is my priority.”

Reflecting on the match against Inter, he emphasized how halftime adjustments improved their performance.

“At halftime, we discussed improving our possession and movement. Right from the start of the second half, we created a good opportunity in the first 10 seconds. When you play with the right energy, you feel stronger defensively as well.”

Koopmeiners remains determined to make a greater impact this season, and his performance against PSV could be a turning point. As Juventus prepares for the crucial fixture, his leadership and drive could be key factors in their quest for victory.
