Thiago Motta could lose Juventus job at the end of the season

Juventus manager Thiago Motta is facing mounting pressure as the club’s performance this season has raised concerns among its leadership.

Despite initial support from Juventus executives, the Italian Brazilian coach’s future in Turin is becoming increasingly uncertain following an early exit from the UEFA Champions League.

The Bianconeri’s Champions League campaign ended in disappointment after they failed to progress beyond the group stage. This forced them into the play off round as an unseeded team, where they faced Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven.

While Juventus secured a narrow home victory in the first leg, PSV overturned the deficit in the return match, ultimately eliminating the Italian giants in extra time. This setback has left club officials reevaluating their long-term commitment to Motta.

Juventus’ primary objective now is to secure a top four finish in Serie A and qualify for next season’s Champions League. The club’s financial stability heavily depends on European competition, and missing out would be a significant blow.

Currently, Juventus sits in fourth place, but with Lazio level on points and teams like AC Milan and Fiorentina in close pursuit, the race for a Champions League spot remains tight.

According to IlBianconero, Juventus will wait until the end of the season before making a final decision on Motta’s tenure. While a mid-season dismissal is unlikely, failure to secure a top four finish could lead to his departure.

The club’s leadership is unwilling to endure another season without Champions League football, and should Motta fail to meet expectations, Juventus may seek a new manager for the next campaign.

Supporters and analysts remain divided on whether Motta should be given more time. Some argue that Juventus’ struggles stem from an ongoing rebuilding phase and key injuries to players like Bremer and Veiga.

Others believe that the team’s inconsistency and inability to hold onto leads indicate managerial shortcomings.

As the season progresses, all eyes will be on Juventus’ performance in Serie A. With only a few months left to turn things around, Motta will need a strong finish to convince the club’s hierarchy that he remains the right man for the job.
