Turkish side interested in Juventus centre back

Danilo has had an interesting season so far at Juventus after the appointment of Thiago Motta. It looked like he would be out the door in the transfer window. However, Cristiano Giuntoli and Thiago Motta decided to keep him, and that he would remain captain.

His season started poorly with him not featuring in a Juventus game until game week eight against Lazio. He only really came in due to Bremer’s ACL injury against RB Leipzig, and he had a solid game, but things only went downhill from there.

In the next game against Stuttgart in the Champions League he started once again in place of Federico Gatti. In the span of five minutes, he picked up two yellow cards and was dismissed in the 84th minute. The next match was a key title game against Inter in which he gave away two penalties which were both converted. However, in that game Juventus did manage to save a draw.

However, since Juventus has recently suffered an injury crisis, he has managed to find his way back into the starting XI. He has picked up some decent form as he finds more minutes this season however, after January he will likely return to coming off the bench for short stints.

Another issue is his contract expires at the end of this season, and how its looking both Giuntoli and Motta aren’t keen in resigning Danilo. A sale in January could likely be the best outcome as Juventus can gain a few million to spend in other places.

Napoli under new manager Antonio Conte has shown some repeated interest in signing Danilo, however a new club has entered the race. Turkish side Fenerbahçe could also make a move for the Brazilian in January.

However, I think it will be more likely that if Danilo was to leave Juventus it would be for Napoli. This is because it would mean that he could stay in Italy and not have too uproot his entire family massively. But Turkish sides have known to give big contracts to older players so they join the league so it could be an interesting prospect for him.
