Kevin de Bruyne breaks silence on Juventus links
Kevin De Bruyne joined Napoli for free this summer following his departure from Manchester City. His move to Serie A generated interest from several clubs, including Juventus.
However, De Bruyne has now confirmed that Juventus was never a serious contender in his decision-making process.
De Bruyne acknowledged that conversations took place with various clubs, including Juventus, through his representatives. He characterized this as a normal process for a player in his position as a free agent.
“I had various conversations with many clubs through my entourage. But that’s normal when you’re a free agent,” he said.
Juventus did show interest, but their involvement was limited to preliminary contacts and did not result in a formal offer.

Juventus were reportedly interested in Kenvin de Bruyne.
Sources close to the matter indicated that any potential move to Juventus was contingent upon the club first offloading players to address financial and squad-size limitations.
This made any realistic pursuit unfeasible. De Bruyne eventually cut off all outside contacts before finalizing his agreement with Napoli.
While speaking about the Serie A title race, De Bruyne referenced Juventus among the league’s competitive sides, acknowledging their place in a strong field alongside Inter, Juveuts, Milan, Atalanta, Roma, and Lazio.
“There are several teams besides us. Inter and Milan are always there. Juventus. Atalanta is doing well, and Roma and Lazio also have good squads. There are many very, very strong teams,” he said.
Despite the early link, Juventus ultimately played no role in the final stages of De Bruyne’s transfer. His decision was driven by factors external to the Turin club, and he has now committed to a multi-year project with Napoli.
