Vlahovic benched again Thiago Motta speaks out on his situation

Dusan Vlahovic knows he has little hope of starting in tomorrow’s match between Juventus and PSV. According to Ilbianconero, the Serbian seems destined to begin on the bench for the fifth consecutive match, thanks to the excellent form of Randal Kolo Muani, who has scored five goals in his first three appearances in the black and white jersey.

The French striker has quickly gained Thiago Motta’s trust, overshadowing the number 9 who, until recently, was a cornerstone of the team.

Despite the difficult moment, Thiago Motta reaffirmed Vlahovic’s importance in a press conference:

“I see him very well, like everyone else motivated, determined, as is normal […]. Dusan has done a lot so far; I am convinced that if he plays or participates tomorrow, he will certainly help. We count on him for the future as well. He will be a great help.”

Words that give the Serbian confidence but do not change reality: at least for now, his starting position is not guaranteed.

The real issue concerns Vlahovic’s future. Although he may be useful in Juventus’ many seasonal commitments, his long-term stay is far from certain.

According to the latest reports, a meeting between his entourage and the club is scheduled for March to discuss his contract, which expires in a year and a half. The Serbian striker seems inclined to wait for the natural expiration of his contract to try to secure a similar salary to his current one, but Juventus may consider alternative solutions.

For now, though, Vlahovic’s most immediate horizon is the bench. Tomorrow, against PSV, he may have his chance during the match, ready to prove he still deserves a key role in the black and white jersey.
